REEL SOUTH: South by South Korea presents two films that showcase the historical and contemporary connections between the American South and South Korea. Ten by Ten takes viewers on a journey through a restaurant’s overnight fame; The Space Between You & Me chronicles motherhood and adoption through the lens of Korean American life at home and abroad.

The Bon Dance festival is a time to celebrate and honor ancestors through song and dance. Niigata Ondo is one of the dances performed at these festivals but has since the 1970s, nearly faded away. In honor of the late Richard Kotaka, Niigata Ondo is being brought back to Waipahu Soto Zen Temple for the first time in 50 years.
