Scheduled Guest for Wednesday, May 14th:
Sports Radio Personality Bobby Curran

Hawaii's iconic father and son sports duo, Jim and Kanoa Leahey, tackle a wide range of topics each week. Coaches, players, politicians, and entertainers come through the screen door and feel at home at the Leahey kitchen table. Playful needling and laughter ensue, and by game's end, the show scores big with candid conversations and insights into Hawaii sports and life.

Jim Leahey is a member of Hawaii's best known sports broadcasting family. Jim's father, legendary Hawaii sports figure Chuck Leahey, was a sports announcer and a supporter of University of Hawaii athletics. Growing up, Jim would tag along with his father to take in sporting events.

In 1966 Jim graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in philosophy and political science. He taught at Campbell High School before joining his father at KITV, where he would go on to take a sports anchor position.

In 1979 Jim moved to KGMB-TV where he replaced Joe Moore and worked for 15 years before taking a job with KFVE. Jim also has served as a play-by-play announcer for KGMB-TV and radio and currently does broadcasts for UH athletic events.

Jim and his wife Toni have three children. The youngest, Kanoa, has continued the family tradition and is currently the sports director at KHON2. In 2005 Jim and Kanoa teamed up for Leahey and Leahey on PBS Hawaii.

Kanoa Leahey joined KHON2 as sports director in August 2004 after five years as a KITV reporter and anchor. He continues a long family tradition of sports broadcasting. Grandfather Chuck Leahey was the radio "Voice of the Rainbows" in the 1960s and '70s, and father Jim Leahey is known for his television broadcasts of UH sports.

Kanoa was born and raised in Hawaii and attended Iolani High School, University of Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University. As a junior at Hawaii Pacific, Kanoa was the first student from Hawaii to be awarded the Freedom Forum NCAA Foundation Journalism Scholarship.
