Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert 2017

 

Led by German pianist and conductor Christoph Eschenbach, the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic returns for its 14th annual open-air concert from Austria’s Imperial Schönbrunn Palace Gardens. In a program inspired by fairy tales and myths, soprano Renée Fleming performs arias from two operas by Antonin Dvořák as well as three songs by Sergei Rachmaninoff.

Julie Andrews hosts a traditional ringing in of the New Year with the Vienna Philharmonic, under the baton of guest conductor Gustavo Dudamel. The program features Strauss Family waltzes and a picturesque range of Vienna landmarks.

Legendary White Stallions

 

This is the story of the world-famous Lipizzaner stallions, from their origins in ancient times to the almost unknown drama of their rescue in 1945. The program focuses on the bond that develops between horse and rider, beginning at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Here the perfect harmony between horse and rider, as well as the beauty and power of the magnificent white stallions, is celebrated in their impressive performance.

Semyon Bychkov conducts the Vienna Philharmonic at Austria’s Imperial Schonbrunn Palace. The mostly French program includes works by Bizet, Poulenc, Ravel, Offenbach and Johann Strauss II. The concert also features French piano duo Katia and Marielle Labeque.
