This six-part drama tells the story of Sir Edmund Hillary, who was the first climber to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, along with Tenzing Norgay. Hillary becomes fascinated with the Himalayas after reading about the range. After serving in the air force, he meets George Lowe, who becomes his lifelong friend and climbing partner.
