Director of Business Support
Full-Time

 

Hawaiʻi’s only locally owned and nonprofit statewide television system, PBS Hawaiʻi, is seeking a savvy, mission-driven sales executive to retain and grow sponsorships of our quality programming.

 

This position requires a creative approach, as sponsorship messages on PBS Hawaiʻi are understated and briefer than in commercial media, and appear in a calm, uncluttered media environment. Sponsors may be businesses, individuals, foundations, government and fellow nonprofits.

 

The Director oversees the full account portfolio, reports to the Vice President of Advancement, and is an important voice in setting rates.

 

Ideal candidate provides excellent service to current supporters and develops connections leading to new sponsors. Responsible for crafting sponsorship proposals, coordinating ad production, and working with support staff on invoicing and scheduling.

 

The successful applicant is organized, outgoing and eager to champion PBS Hawaiʻi’s mission of advancing learning and discovery through storytelling. Bachelor’s degree or relevant success required.

HIKI NŌ Online Editor/Assistant Producer
Full-Time

 

Hawaiʻi’s only locally owned statewide television station is seeking a full-time Online Editor/Assistant Producer for HIKI NŌ, the statewide student news program. Duties include: Downloading HD video files and compiling half-hour programs to PBS Hawaiʻi standards for broadcast, aiding in the training of teachers and students at participating schools, converting a wide range of digital files, editing and co-producing various HIKI NŌ related material, and participating in outreach events.

 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in film/video production and four years’ experience in non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere) required. Must have knowledge of good editing principles, the ability to meet specific deadlines, multi-task, and be organized. Patience and strong communication skills required for teaching various skill levels. Successful candidate should have a passion for education, be detail oriented, and proficient in graphics, animation, and color-correction programs. Knowledge of HIKI NŌ preferred.

Social Media Coordinator
Full-Time

 

Hawaiʻi’s only locally owned and nonprofit statewide television system, PBS Hawaiʻi, is seeking a full-time Social Media Coordinator to develop and oversee social media content that contributes to the overall social media strategy for all PBS Hawaiʻi’s programs to drive exposure, tune-in, awareness and engagement. The Social Media Coordinator will lead social content planning across multiple platforms with a creative approach to effective storytelling within each social platform. This position will grow and maintain a strong online presence for PBS Hawaiʻi and use social media to inform, attract and engage users.

 

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro and Premiere. 3-5 years of professional social media marketing experience and the ability to provide examples of a robust, personal social media portfolio. Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Advancement Assistant
Full-Time

 

Seeking a team player with a strong work ethic and a “can do” attitude to support the daily activities of our fundraising department. Free parking at our beautiful new building. Responsibilities include accurate, efficient data entry; assistance with donor direct mail campaigns including postal activities; tracking of purchase orders; gracious assistance with viewer inquiries and donor requests; assistance with events and outreach activities. Ability to interact professionally with viewers and donors in person and on the phone is a must. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends on a flex schedule.

 

College degree or equivalent work experience. Proficiency with Microsoft applications required. Valid driver’s license and clean abstract a must.
