Christmas with Wartburg

 

The 68th annual Christmas with Wartburg concert celebrates the holiday season with a musical performance on the campus of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. This program features the Wartburg Choir, Castle Singers, and Wind Ensemble as well as other Wartburg College choirs such as Ritterchor, St. Elizabeth Chorale, Kantorei and the Handbell Choir.

From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2017

 

Julie Andrews hosts a traditional ringing in of the New Year with the Vienna Philharmonic, under the baton of guest conductor Gustavo Dudamel. The program features Strauss Family waltzes and a picturesque range of Vienna landmarks.

 

A St. Thomas Christmas:
Jubilant Light

 

The University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota presents a festive concert showcasing their renowned vocal and instrumental ensembles in performance, drawing from both the familiar traditional carols and innovative contemporary selections. The University’s Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Liturgical Choir, Women’s Choir, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir and the String Orchestra will all perform. The program includes a performance of “Jubilant Light” by composer James Stephenson.

Holiday Handbells:
The Raleigh Ringers

 

The Raleigh Ringers, an internationally acclaimed community handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina, present holiday song selections from old yuletide favorites to Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” score and other sounds of the season. Highlights include: the French carol “Pat-a-pan,” “March of the Toys” from the operetta Babes in Toyland, Chopin’s “Valse Brilliante,” and “Silent Night.”

 

A Christmas Carol:
The Concert

 

This unique musical event marks the first time Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol has been adapted for a live orchestral concert with choir and soloists and performed for audiences in a concert setting. Robert Christianson’s score is filled with memorable songs, and the story, faithfully adapted by Broadway’s Alisa Hauser, is performed by such Chicago and New York theater luminaries as Michael Aaron Lindner and E. Faye Butler.

Holiday Special

Doing what she does best, Chef Vivian Howard hosts her own vision of the season’s celebrations, exploring holiday traditions, Kinston, NC style. This one-hour special invites viewers to join in one of the most charming and delicious celebrations of the season. “Deck the Halls, Y’all!”

Christmas at Belmont

 

Join Grammy-winning host Kathy Mattea and nearly 700 student musicians, Belmont School of Music faculty and Nashville Children’s Choir for a production of traditional carols, classical masterworks and light-hearted seasonal favorites.

Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Featuring Santino Fontana and the Sesame Street Muppe

 

Renowned star of stage and song Santino Fontana and the Muppets from Sesame Street join the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah for a magical holiday extravaganza. The concert includes a rendition of a classic carol from Sesame Street, “Keep Christmas with You,” as well as “Sing a Christmas Carol” from Scrooge, and inspiring arrangements of sacred Christmas music.
