The Exterminating Angel

 

See the American premiere of Thomas Adès’ opera, a surreal fantasy of a dinner party from which the guests can’t escape, based on Luis Buñuel’s 1962 film. Starring John Tomlinson and Alice Coote, with direction from librettist Tom Cairns and conducted by Adès.

Romeo et Juliette

 

The lectrifying team of Vittorio Grigolo and Diana Damrau reunites for a new production by Bartlett Sher of Gounod’s opera, based on the Shakespeare play. Damrau makes her role debut as Juliette, Grigolo sings Romeo and Elliot Madore sings Mercutio. Gianandrea Noseda conducts.

Dudamel Conducts a John Williams Celebration with the LA Phil

 

The LA Philharmonic’s gala celebration of John Williams’ peerless achievements reunites him with violinist Itzhak Perlman. The performance features Williams’ noted compositions, including themes from Schindler’s List and Star Wars.

 

Happy Holidays with the Boston Pops

 

This special showcases the best of the New England holiday season with the Boston Pops and Tanglewood Festival Chorus, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, performing beloved classics, including “Christmas Canticles” and “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah.
