From the late 1940s ’til the early 1970s, millions of viewers of all ages saw great musical acts each Sunday night on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” This special presents classic song performances from 1963-1968. From the Beatles’ American television debut to the Doors’ infamous one-time-only appearance to the Rolling Stones, Sly and the Family Stone, the Mamas and the Papas and more, it focuses exclusively on full-length musical performances that evoke the spirit of that decade’s youth.

From the late 1940s through the early 1970s, The Ed Sullivan Show, based in the heart of New York’s theatre district, presented live special performances by cast members from the most beloved stage musicals of Broadway’s golden age. Not seen for decades since their original broadcasts, these rare selections include performances by legends Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman, Joel Grey, Gwen Verdon, Dick Van Dyke, Richard Burton and others in songs from classics such as Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Annie Get Your Gun, Sweet Charity and Camelot. The special is hosted by Shirley Jones.
