HIKI NŌ

On this episode of HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawaiʻi, hosts Kiara Hamora and Alohilani Riklon of Kealakehe High School share several stand-out stories from the latest Spring series of HIKI NŌ shows.

We revisit a story about brotherhood and the ocean from at James Campbell High School on Oʻahu and another reflection that serves as an ode to being young produced by students at Kapaʻa High School on Kauaʻi.

From Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy Middle School on the Big Island, Finnegan LeDuc shares her experience with anxiety.

Student Chloe Smith at Radford High School offers a fun tutorial on how to plant native foliage that fuels local bees, Honowai Elementary School students share an engaging gardening tutorial, and a grandmother is remembered by her orchids in a visual essay from Tyra Doiguchi at Mid-Pacific Institute on Oʻahu.

We also revisit Highlands Intermediate School’s report on the aftermath of Kona Low storms which took first place in the HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawaiʻi Spring Challenge, as well as a story about Hawaiian monk seals produced by West Hawaiʻi Explorations Academy students on Hawaiʻi Island.

Viewers will also step inside one of the oldest Buddhist temples on Oʻahu in a piece from Pacific Buddhist Academy students.
