AMERICAN MASTERS Unladylike2020 presents stories of pioneering American heroines who advocated for suffrage and civil rights over 100 years ago. Featured are: Martha Hughes Cannon, the first woman State Senator; Jovita Idár, journalist and civil rights leader; Jeannette Rankin, first U.S. Congresswoman; Mary Church Terrell, suffragist and co-founder of the NAACP; and Zitkála-Šá, composer, author and civil rights leader.

Through August 26, 2020, UNLADYLIKE2020 will feature digital short films of 21 more courageous and diverse female trailblazers from the turn of the 20th century are available to view on the American Masters Unladylike2020 website, including one on Queen Liliʻuokalani. The segment includes an interview with Hawaiʻi filmmaker Meleanna Aluli Meyer.
