Sam Schimmel was raised to be a subsistence fisherman in a Kenaitze Native Alaskan community whose traditions center on a now threatened species of salmon. Jonathan Blair’s family has for generations earned a living from coal in Eastern Kentucky, where the resource is dwindling. Each young man rises as a community leader, working to honor a distinctive heritage while moving his people forward.
In the aftermath of severe weather and power outages, we are working to restore service to our over-the-air viewers on Kauaʻi. Mahalo for your patience and understanding.
