This episode is a “Home Base” edition filmed at Lāna’i High and Elementary School, home of the Pine Lads and Pine Lasses. Between stories, student anchors guide viewers on a cultural and historical tour of the island of Lāna’i—covering its ancient legends, place names, plantation history, and landmarks (including the 201-day labor strike led by Pedro dela Cruz, the founding of Lāna’i City, and sacred sites like Hulopoe Bay and Keahiakawelo).
In the aftermath of severe weather and power outages, we are working to restore service to our over-the-air viewers on Kauaʻi, Big Island, and Maui. Mahalo for your patience and understanding.
