As freediving couple Sachiko Fukumoto and William Trubridge navigated maternity systems for the birth of their first child, a realization awoke in them about the lack of choices many parents face. Fukumoto connects with other mothers around the Pacific, from Hawaiʻi, Tahiti, the Cook Islands and Aotearoa (New Zealand) facing similar issues, having been cut off from indigenous birth practices.
