Along the tour, he reveals insight as to what it’s like filming in the Mediterranean and even hints at what to expect in the show’s second season. This video was recorded prior to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
During the big casino gala, an act of masculine bravado threatens the Hotel’s future. Bella acts decisively to salvage her investment in the Hotel Portofino, but at what cost to her relationships and those of her children? Just when things seem to be going Bella’s way, tragedy strikes with dire consequences for one member of the family.
Rose’s clumsy attempt to resolve her marital difficulties with Lucian ends in embarrassing failure and Bella is forced to contemplate making an intervention. Danioni’s ruse to help Cecil grab control of the Hotel appears to be making progress, but Bella is secretly scheming with Claudine and Carlo to thwart her husband’s plans.
Rose turns up without warning in Portofino and enlists Constance to bring her closer to Lucian. Alice returns with a ring on her finger and a fiancé in tow. Cecil plots with Danioni to take control of the Hotel and does his best to drive a wedge between Bella and Marco. Gianluca is furious about Lucian’s interference in his plan to smuggle Nish to safety and escape the Fascists’ vengeance.
Cecil becomes embroiled with local gangsters and Betty’s battle with the workmen boils over. With Nish on the run, being hunted by Danioni, Bella and Lucian must help him avoid arrest. Emotions between Lucian and Constance come to a head.
Cecil tries to win his way back into his wife’s affections, forcing Bella to question what he’s expecting in return.
1927: Bella Ainsworth is still devoting her considerable energies to the Hotel Portofino, which has overcome its early troubles and is starting to prosper.
The mystery of the missing heirloom is resolved as Cecil makes a surprising discovery about Danioni. Lucian acknowledges his true feelings until a secret from Constance's past is unveiled, forcing him to decide on his prospective engagement to Rose.
The police search for the missing heirloom, and suspicion falls on an absent guest and the bellhop, Billy, who has also hidden political pamphlets at Nish's behest. The search culminates in a confrontation between Cecil and Jack.
Nish has an epiphany as he and Lucian escape arrest at Danioni's behest. Constance catches Lucian's eye on a boat trip but sees more than she bargained for in return. Bella stands up to Danioni, who hands over a compromising letter to her husband.
