Minori calls Makoto who had devastating news suggesting the insect bites might be lethal. Empowered after talking to Minori, Makoto tells President Miyoshi that the bites are from mosquitoes that escaped the university lab. The directors intend to cover up the scandal so he and Miyoshi confront them. Not wanting to cancel the Expo, the directors deny it. So Makoto puts his big plan into action.

Teito University has a lot invested in an upcoming Expo so there's concern when people start getting mysterious insect bites around the Expo site. Makoto is bitten and becomes feverish. The public believes that the insects are from the university's entomological lab. An internal investigation committee refutes that to a doubtful President. Then Dr. Sawada breaks the news to Makoto about the bites.

Teito University will hold an event for their 100th anniversary and they invite Hamada, an outspoken journalist, to be on a panel. But when he's trolled online, the directors cancel his appearance. The resentful journalist tells the press that the cancellation is a violation of free speech. He demands an explanation from President Miyoshi. Makoto tries to get his old teacher out of trouble.

The whistleblower, Minori, who Makoto once dated, won't back down and goes public, leading to an inquiry run by the university. When the university directors try to influence the results of the inquiry, one panel member, Dr. Ueda, has a breakdown so Minori stops cooperating with the inquiry. The university replaces Ueda with Dr. Sawada, a notorious eccentric.

TV news presenter, Makoto is invited by his old teacher, Miyoshi, to join the PR team at his alma mater. He has no time to settle in his job as Dr. Kishitani, a star researcher, is accused of data fraud. The whistleblower happens to be a postdoc named Minori who Makoto once dated. The directors order him to get her to change her story.
