Told through individual lives and personal histories, the series looks at the role Asian Americans have played in the evolution of American identity in the context of migration, diversity and global connectedness.

Among those profiled in the series are Hawai‘i’s Patsy Mink, the first Asian American woman elected to Congress; labor organizer Larry Itliong, who instigated a strike in 1965 that led to the creation of the United Farm Workers Union; and martial arts superstar Bruce Lee.
