HIKI NŌ, Hawai`i’s New Wave of Storytellers, teaches elementary, middle and high school students how to create PBS-quality news features that reach a statewide audience on PBS Hawai`i and a worldwide audience on pbshawaii.org.   In the process, students acquire the life skills needed to succeed in college and career.

TOP STORY   Students from Āliamanu Middle School in the Salt Lake district of Oʻahu re-visit an issue they reported on for HIKI NŌ over six years ago: the pedestrian hazards around their campus and the campus of Āliamanu Elementary School. Most of Salt Lake Boulevard is a four-lane City & County road.

TOP STORY   Students from Konawaena Middle School and Konawaena High School in Kealakekua join forces to tell the story of the Dancing Goat Sanctuary on Hawaiʻi Island. The sanctuary is situated on an organic farm and is dedicated to providing abused, orphaned and abandoned goats with a safe environment in which to thrive.
